Nuevo Vallarta has no airport; therefore, one has to fly to the nearby air terminals of Tepic, capital of the State of Nayarit, and Puerto Vallarta, in the State of Jalisco. From either place the trip continues with a short stage travelling by bus or by car.

The Gustavo Diaz Ordaz International Airport in Puerto Vallarta is the closest to Nuevo Vallarta. It is at a less than 30-minute distance.This airport gets 450 flights weekly during high seasons, both domestic and international, especially from cities in the United States, such as Los Angeles, San Francisco, Dallas, Fort Worth and Denver. Charter flights also arrive at this terminal.

The other option is the Poet Amado Nervo National Airport in Tepic, which handles domestic and private flights. After landing you have to take a two or three-hour trip by land. Both airports have parking areas, taxis, shops and restaurants, amongst other services and facilities.

BY LAND:
it can be accessed coming through Federal Highway 200 Tepic - Puerto Vallarta, which connects northern central and southern Mexico, thus allowing reaching this destination from the main cities in the country.

The distance between Tepic, capital of the State of Nayarit, and Nuevo Vallarta is of 156 kilometres; and the trip lasts two or three hours, approximately. Vehicles of different bus lines cover the distance on a daily basis, being their departing point the bus terminal located on 2100 Insurgente Street East, in Tepic. There are also taxis providing the service.

On the other hand, the distance between Puerto Vallarta and Nuevo Vallarta is of only 17 kilometres, which are covered by buses or microbuses on a 20-minute trip, approximately. There are taxis as well, which have their terminal on Francisco Medina Asencio Boulevard, nearby the Gustavo Diaz Ordaz Airport, in Puerto Vallarta.

BY SEA:
the marina of Nuevo Vallarta can moor up to 270 boats, and cruisers coming from the eastern and western coasts of the United States tie up at it, besides private yachts.
